Essa Neima studied art at the University of Damascus in Syria. He is a painter, art director, educator, and an animation & design professional; as such, he works in a wide variety of media. Born and raised in Syria, Neima currently lives in Washington DC where he teaches art at the University of the District of Columbia. Essa’s painting style ranges from vigorously painted figure studies to gentle reflections on life, faith, and displacement.
