Sushmita Mazumdar is book artist, painter, writer, and educator. Her work has been sold and exhibited at numerous museums and art galleries in the region. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art from Bombay University (India), Sushmita worked as an art director in the advertising industry in Mumbai for 10 years. In 1999, she moved to the US and apart from writing and making art, she is a docent at Freer & Sackler Galleries of Art – the Smithsonian’s museum of Asia; and, has founded Studio Pause – an artists’ collective dedicated to exploring how art and writing can build bridges and create community among people of all ages and backgrounds.
